Bambu Lab’s PrintMon Maker lets users generate custom 3D-printable fantasy creatures using AI.

Bambu Lab has just dropped a game-changer in the 3D printing world – PrintMon Maker, a free, generative AI tool on MakerWorld that lets you whip up Pokémon-like characters faster than you can say “gotta print ’em all.”

This nifty tool, which has been lurking in beta since August, is as easy as pie to use. Just throw in a text or image prompt describing your dream “PrintMon,” hit generate, and bam – your fantasy creature materializes in mere minutes. But wait, there’s more! You can deck out your creation in living color, with four-, eight-, and twelve-color options to choose from, cranking up the realism to eleven.

Want to get fancy? The tool lets you slap on a base – either as part of the print or separate – and even lets you fine-tune those peepers for maximum cuteness or terror, depending on your vibe.

Now, here’s the kicker – turning that 2D image into a 3D model you can actually print will cost you some MakerLab credits. But don’t sweat it, they’re currently slashing prices, offering models for just 10 credits a pop (down from a whopping 50). And if you’re running low, just rack up some MakerWorld points by being active on the site to swap for more credits.

Compared to the Technicolor dreamboats PrintMon Maker churns out, the UI is pretty bare-bones. But don’t let that scare you off – the possibilities here are as endless as a Pokédex.

Speaking of Pokémon, some folks might raise an eyebrow at the similarities. But before you start sweating about Nintendo’s legal eagles swooping in, remember – the current Poké-lawsuit with “Palworld” is all about catching mechanics, not the critters themselves. So PrintMon Maker should be safe from any courtroom drama.

Ready to dive in? Just mosey on over to MakerWorld, set up an account, and you’ll be printing your own menagerie of fantasy creatures faster than you can say “Pikachu.”
