Mumbai-based Divide by Zero Technologies launches Altron, India’s first fully automatic and affordable 3D printer, aiming to revolutionize manufacturing across various sectors.

Mumbai-based 3D printer manufacturer Divide by Zero Technologies has launched what it says is India’s first full automatic 3D printer, Altron. With a price tag under approx $598.9 (INR 50,000), this innovative device is designed to offer automation, precision, and faster production to a wide range of industries and users.

Altron targets automotive, electronics and healthcare sectors along with offerings for MSMEs, startups, hobbyists and engineers. This launch comes at a crucial time as Indian MSMEs face ongoing challenges in accessing advanced technology and skilled labor.

Swapnil Sansare, the founder and CEO of Divide by Zero Technologies, said, “Altron empowers MSMEs to tap into technology that was once inaccessible — this is not only about affordability, but the key here is enabling businesses to innovate and grow.”

Altron boasts several key features that set it apart:

  1. Automatic calibration system, eliminating manual adjustments
  2. Clog detection system for identifying and resolving blockages
  3. Nozzle height detection system for consistent precision
  4. Advanced bed leveling technology
  5. High-speed motion system for improved production speed
  6. Accurate and reliable filament flow control system

These features aim to boost accuracy, speed up production, and reduce disruptions during printing. For businesses involved in prototyping and small-scale production, Altron could potentially result in faster product development and increased operational efficiency.

MSMEs contribute about 30% to the country’s GDP as well as over 40% to exports, it should help small businesses improve productivity by introducing efficient manufacturing processes in their small budgets. Beyond the MSME sector, Altron stands to benefit the broader engineering sector, potentially reducing reliance on manual labor and improving production processes.

Founded in 2013 by Sansare, Divide by Zero Technologies has helped more than 1,400 companies in industries like automotive, aerospace, electronics, and defense use 3D printing. The company is dedicated to making 3D printing technology more available to businesses, and supports them in their production processes.

This launch follows the company’s recent relaunch of the Aion500 MK2 with Auto-Switchover technology in April, which enhanced large-scale printing efficiency and reliability. The upgraded Aion500 MK2 can now print projects up to 10kg without stopping, increasing efficiency and minimizing waste.

As Altron enters the market, it remains to be seen how this affordable, fully automatic 3D printer will shape the future of Indian manufacturing. However, its potential to transform production processes and empower businesses across various sectors is undeniable.
