America Makes launched its annual Members Meeting and Exchange (MMX) this week, joining innovators from across the country. The event shed spotlight on the budding trend of 3D printed homes.

Gene Eidelman from Azure Printed Homes took the stage Tuesday to discuss this new building method. His Los Angeles company sees 3D printing as a game-changer for housing.

Eidelman pointed out the method’s key benefits: “We can build faster and cheaper with 3D printing. It also lets us easily customize designs.” He added that their process is eco-friendly, using a mix of recycled plastic and fiberglass. “Each 180-square-foot unit we print uses up about 150,000 bottles,” he noted.

The MMX continues Wednesday with talks on space tech, updates from America Makes, and small business topics. The Youngstown Business Incubator will also feature in the day’s agenda.

This version aims to convey the same information in a similar tone but with original wording and structure. Does this better meet what you were looking for?
